Even though the poll site is so badly designed and the poll itself run in such an old-fashioned way, the whole thing is exciting because there's not many opportunities for books from micro-presses to acquire any distinctions. As far as I can tell, the criteria for inclusion is 'from a press with an open submissions policy' which is an interesting and reasonable way to make sure small-press books aren't overshadowed by popular works from big names. (As a comparison, one can look at the Goodreads Reader's Choice Poll.)
Anyhow, if you were thinking of voting but had trouble with the site, it's easier now that MATCHBOX GIRLS is actually on the list. It just requires your email to validate the vote…

The site is an absolute abomination, and the CAPTCHAs used on the poll are even worse, but the poll itself is actually fairly prestigious, and it’s AWESOME that there’s a fair shake for presses of every size – MATCHBOX GIRLS is on there with books from DAW and Tor!
